Cleveland, NC | Sally Logan | 18 | F | N.C. | Dec |   | Fever | 20 |
In the Mortality Schedule of the 1850 U.S. Federal Census28, there is an entry for a Sally Logan who died of "fever" at the age of 18 in December 1849. Although there is no known evidence to confirm it, it is possible this Sally Logan was one of the unidentified females listed in the Joseph Logan household in the census of 1840. It would be understandable that Joseph may have named a daughter after his mother Sarah who used the nickname Sally.
Joseph Logan is listed in the 1850 Agricultural Census of Cleveland County, NC (pages 805 and 806, line 34)27. The details of his listing are as follows:

Cleveland, NC | Joseph Logan | 75 | M | M | N.Carolina | March | Farmer | Sudden ([Supposed Infm. Brain?]) | 6 hours |
The Mortality Schedule of the 1860 U.S. Federal Census28 lists Joseph Logan, a farmer, age 75 who died a "sudden" death in March 1860. His age is consistent with the age of the Joseph Logan who was listed as age 65 in the 1850 census and was head of the household including Jane, Philip, David, and Huldah. No evidence has been found to suggest there was another Joseph Logan in Cleveland County who was close to that age.
